We offer affordable counselling for any resident of Tower Hamlets aged 16 years and over at our centre in Roman Road.
How much will it cost?
We have a sliding scale of charges. The cost of sessions will be worked out when you meet your counsellor and an amount that you can afford to pay will be agreed.
How do I get an appointment?
If you would like to have an initial appointment to consider if counselling would be helpful for you simply telephone us.
Although your GP, Social Worker, or professional support worker can refer you, we prefer that you make contact yourself.
What will happen when I telephone you?
When you telephone we will take your name, address and telephone number and send you a simple questionnaire about why you want counselling and some details about yourself.
We provide a stamped addressed envelope to return the questionnaire to us. If we think the help you are looking for is something we can provide then we will place you on our waiting list.
How long will I be on the waiting list?
Quite often you will be on the waiting list for at least three months and sometimes longer. The questionnaire will ask you about the times during the day and evening when you can be available to meet a counsellor, this will help us to find a appointment time that is convenient for you.
How many appointments will I have?
After an initial appointment your counsellor will let you know if we can offer you further counselling at Crossroads. The number of appointments (sessions) you have will be something that you and your counsellor will consider carefully. Crossroads does not have a set number of sessions per person, each person will be considered individually.
When will my sessions be?
Counselling sessions will take place at the same time on the same day each week and will last for 50 minutes. Counselling sessions are available during the day and evening.
Where will my sessions be?
All sessions take place at our centre, 144 Roman Road, Bethnal Green, London, E2 0RY.
How do I know your service is ethical?
We are a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and follow their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Our counsellors are accredited or working towards accreditation.
When can I contact Crossroads?
The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am – 4pm. There is a messaging service which is also used outside of these hours or when staff are unable to answer the phone.
